We meet twice a week for club runs on Tuesday and Thursday evenings starting at 7pm, from the Nailsea & Backwell Rugby Club.

Both nights include steady training runs, either on or off-road depending on the time of year. Nobody gets left behind during the club runs. On Tuesdays there is also a more structured training session generally organised by the club-coach.

On Sunday mornings there is usually a long run starting at 8.30am from the Queens Road, Trendlewood Way, Station Road junction in Nailsea.

There is also often an alternative Sunday run up on the Mendips starting at 10am.

So, why not come along for:

  1. a run around Nailsea in the winter
  2. a cross country run in the summer (or winter!)
  3. a gentle run around the lanes,
  4. a structured speed session with the club-coach

The jog and speed sessions last about an hour whereas summer cross country runs can take a bit longer.

All Nailsea Running Club members have Social Membership at Nailsea and Backwell RFC so after the club runs you can enjoy all the facilities the club has to offer.

The club organises three open races each year: the Ironwood Challenge, the Tyntesfield 10k and the Festival 10k. These are well attended and popular with other clubs.

Many members take part in local races including Weston Prom Run and TACH Summer Pub series, 10ks, half and full marathons and also partake in races further afield such as Forest of Dean 10k. We aim to offer every year a trip to a European race and past examples have been Argentan half marathon (France), Palma half marathon (Majorca) and Benidorm half marathon!

The more adhoc arrangements for club social events, weekend runs and upcoming races, etc, besides being emailed to members are usually advertised on the club Facebook page – see the link at the top of each webpage.

New runners are always very welcome. Come and run with us. Call one of the committee members or just pop along one club night. There are no membership commitments whilst you try the club out for the first few weeks.
